Lane loves basketball more than anything in life right now. He spends a couple of hours a day out in the backyard shooting hoops! It all begins when we get him out of bed, and he sees it through the kitchen glass door. He wants to shoot before breakfast, even if it is in the mid-40's outside. It goes really well with his other talent of throwing things!!
Here he is, working on his shooting form. He kinds holds it to the side a little.
One great thing about it is that it has helped him learn some new words in addition to just "ball". He now says "basket", "basketball", "yeah", and we have heard him say, "I did it!" a couple of times. Up next--he is working on how to say "swish".
The biggest crack up is watching him do his little dribble before he shoots. He squats and grabs the ball with both hands and bounces it VERY close to the ground a couple of times.
Another funny thing is that he is a great passer! When either Lincoln or Anna comes out to shoot with him, he goes from "shooter mode" to being the point guard looking for his next assist. And more often than not, his passes are right on the money!
He also loves pointing to the basketball hoops at church (if they're left down), when we come into the chapel, and on his way to nursery
We are grateful that he has a new hobby to use up all that extra energy and allow Mom and Dad to get stuff done. :)
He is almost 2!! December 31 will be here in no time.

he is SO cute!! i still can't get over his laugh watching the ball come off the roof @ thanksgiving! too funny!! it looks like the suns will have a good replacement when nash retires!! (: {i'm in denial of nash's real age & how close he is to retirement...}
The mid 4o's is nothing. Our kids don't even wear coats when it's that WARM outside! :)
That is so funny! What great coordination for such a little guy. Parker is FOUR and I'm pretty sure Lane would school him in B-ball! It's great when you find something they are passionate about and especially handy in keeping him occupied so you can get something accomplished! A win win all around! What a cute little guy you have there.

Merry Christmas Lincoln and Anna. Tonight is my night to get to check the family blogs. Lane is growing and getting so cute. He is well-trained in the finer arts such as BB. Good Work, Lincoln!
We're loving our work and the young people for whom we have responsibility, though it is all going by too fast. We need to put on the brakes. We are excited to see our newest family members who have come since we left. Kristen and Maren will give us two more in the coming months.
